Villa Nello Oliviero has been built on the rocky ridge above the sea in a residential area, in one of the most evocative background of the world, created by the natural stage of Positano, Praiano and the island of Li Galli.
Since 1400, the villa’s position and supreme views enchanted foreigners from all over the world, and many of them built their residence nearby.
The villa is approximately 200 meters off of the main coastal road that passes through Positano. There are approximately 90 steps from the main coastal road up to the pedestrian pathway which takes you to the front gate of the Villa.
The Villa is 10 minutes walk from the centre of town and 15 minutes from the main Positano’s beach.
The huge dining room with a large sofa facing an ancient fireplace will comfort you and is full of old furniture; satellite television with dvd, vcr and stereo system are at guests disposal.
The Villa is based on four levels. An external staircase leads through the garden down to the terrace and swimming pool. The swimming pool (10 x 10m) lies on the lowest terrace, offering plenty of shaded areas. The outdoor lamps set throughout the garden create a very intimate atmosphere at night.
Many artists, painters and poets found here the quiet they where looking for. Stefan Andres (1937 – 1949) escaped from Germany during the first world war and he lived here for several years, getting inspired by the beauty of the olive groves and the grapes. At this villa, you will feel a warm welcome with the maximum comfort and privacy.
You will be able to walk down the hill to Positano’s beautiful beaches and visit the surrounding areas, which include Pompeii, Sorrento, Capri, and the Amalfi Coast.
Villa Oliviero is proud to have an ancient cookery tradition. Mr Nello Oliviero, chief of the Italian cookery academy, has organized in this wonderful place huge events, and the Villa’s kitchen testifies his passion for this art. The Oliviero family and the staff have inherited this art and all of them cook with passion taking advantage of the extraordinary delicious raw materials of their country.
They prepare for their clients amazing recipes with all fresh ingredients. Famous, for example, are the “Alina’s calzoncino”, special filled pizza, or the Alice’s lemon dinner, all recipes realized with the famous Amalfi coast lemon!
